About Me

My photo
Portugal
I am from Coimbra, Portugal, and am currently teaching in a school in Soure, about 30 km away from Coimbra. I have been a teacher of English for over 20 years and have already taught different levels and age groups. After all this time I can say I love working with adult groups because there are no coursebooks and I can create my own resources. I am an avid reader, a blogger and very curious about free tools and their implementation in the classroom.

School Trip To IRELAND

Image Credit:
WIKIPEDIA
Time goes by quickly, very quickly!
A year ago I posted here about our school trip to London / England. Well, this year's school trip is obviously to an English-speaking country, but this time IRELAND - both to the Republic of Ireland where we will visit Dublin, Kilkenny and Wicklow, and Northern Ireland including The Giant's Causeway and, naturally, Belfast.
All the 22 participants from Soure (we will join another school group led by teachers Helena and Cláudia in Dublin) have high expectations so... we just hope everything will be fine - just like last year - not only during the day but also at night when some extra activities are already planned: an evening of Irish Music and Dance, Temple Bar area and... Hard Rock Cafe Dublin!!!
We can hardly wait for the day to come... wish us all the best in the crisis- stricken country (not different from our own!!!).
Have a look now at this video by the History Channel that so well portrays Ireland we are about to visit:

School visit to... REDINHA

Though tired and with loads of work waiting to be done, I couldn't postpone posting these pictures from last week also because there is another school visit this Thursday...
Have a look at some of the pictures taken last Thursday (29th April) when some of the trainees from ANSC 2 guided the rest of the class as well as some teachers around Redinha.
Enjoy!

Some final remarks...

One last posting on our school trip to London…
As you can guess, I am quite glad with the outcome of all this. It took me – and teacher Helena - months to prepare stuff for all the participants (including homework and I’m not kidding!) but all was worthwhile according to the feedback I’ve been given :D
So, in these final remarks, my acknowledgements go to all those who, one way or another, contributed to the success of this activity. Please forgive me if I forget someone…
- Teacher Helena Soares and her group from AZOGLA;
- Claudia Macedo (our lovely guide) and Pinto Lopes Viagens;
- Teacher Natália Costa from my school board;
- Câmara Municipal de Soure
- Last but NOT the least: teachers + children + adult learners. Without YOU, this school trip would have never come true.
Now click below to see us all ;

Again – a huge THANK YOU to all involved.
