About Me

Portugal
I am from Coimbra, Portugal, and am currently teaching in a school in Soure, about 30 km away from Coimbra. I have been a teacher of English for over 20 years and have already taught different levels and age groups. After all this time I can say I love working with adult groups because there are no coursebooks and I can create my own resources. I am an avid reader, a blogger and very curious about free tools and their implementation in the classroom.

European Day of Languages (EDL) 2013

Hereherehere and here I've already left tons of info, links, resources and materials from previous years.
This year, my school - together with professors from the University of Aveiro - is involved in many and interesting activities. So, for now, just a few more awesome links:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/edl/ - though it hasn't been updated for some time, this site is worth our time especially the links on the right hand side.
As for the activities in my school... well I'll tell you more in a few hours...or days!
Happy EDL2013!

Election time

It's election time everywhere!
Today, Germany goes to the polls; in a week's time it will be ourselves, the Portuguese. As important - I would dare say ;) - were my class elections!  My students were also involved in a tough class election this past week with campaign and all! By now all is over and settled, and below are the results.
Our proud class officers are:

Hope they do a better job than our Portuguese leaders :)))

Starting the year off right

Soure news!

Today, I've not only welcomed my young stars, but also taught English to my adult groups. It was indeed a full day to kick off!!!
There is no turning back now and a new (and tough) school year is definitely upon us. Hope everyone has started it on the right foot ;)
I'm looking forward to meeting my 10th graders, YES!!!

A happy and successful school year!
