not even white,
but sometimes I'm wide and blue.
Sometimes I'm still,
and sometimes I rush,
and I can fall down on you.
I can change my shape,
I often do,
but I'm hard to hold in your hand.
You need me to make
your castle stand up
when you're playing in the sand.
I haven't much taste
but on a hot day
your tongue's hanging out for me.
Then I am cold,
but I can be hot
When I'm in your mum's cup of tea.
What am I?

Hi Alex, this is Cristina, from Spain.
I'm not very good at guessing riddles, but I suppose this one is THE WATER, am I right?
Thank u very much for all the new posts and activities, as original and useful as always. You've got one of your greatest admirers in me. What you do is simply amazing and important.
Best regards.
It must be water, right? :)
Water, teacher?
WATER, yes.
You are all correct. I'm not very good at riddles, Cristina, but I found this one quite nice for introducing / motivating sts for WORLD WATER DAY or simply for Environment.
In scarcity or in abundance, water is life... check this photo gallery:
