About Me

Portugal
I am from Coimbra, Portugal, and am currently teaching in a school in Soure, about 30 km away from Coimbra. I have been a teacher of English for over 20 years and have already taught different levels and age groups. After all this time I can say I love working with adult groups because there are no coursebooks and I can create my own resources. I am an avid reader, a blogger and very curious about free tools and their implementation in the classroom.

3 years!!!

Source: clipart
3 years, over 23.000 visitors and 200 posts; how does that sound, hem???
I started this blog as part of a teacher training course I was attending at the time and ever since that day that I've intended to keep it - not only as a record of teaching materials I find interesting but also stuff I would like to share with others. What I hadn't intended though was to spend so much time with it and feel so much pleasure.
Has it been worthwhile? For me, definitely! I'm quite happy with the outcome and grateful with all the positive feedback I've had all this time. I've come to the conclusion that blogging isn't only about numbers: it's much more about learning and sharing :)
Thanks for YOUR support. Alex

Congatulations. You have been doing a tremendous work with a regularity that causes envy in all your companions. At the present, when we are all flooded with papers and burocracy ans sometimes empty minded, there is always a reminder from you: teaching and learning are the REALLY IMPORTANT ISSUES for a teacher. Thanks for being an example of what our profession is all about.
