I am from Coimbra, Portugal, and am currently teaching in a school in Soure, about 30 km away from Coimbra. I have been a teacher of English for over 20 years and have already taught different levels and age groups. After all this time I can say I love working with adult groups because there are no coursebooks and I can create my own resources. I am an avid reader, a blogger and very curious about free tools and their implementation in the classroom.

25th June: The death of two icons

Yesterday was devastating for both the film and music industry.
The deaths of FARRAH FAWCETT and MICHAEL JACKSON shocked fans worldwide. Though there have been several tributes since their passings were announced, the most significant ones will be broadcast tonight.

Farrah Fawcett, an American actress and multiple Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee, died in Los Angeles at 62, after a long battle with cancer.

A great artist, Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, also passed away yesterday and in Los Angeles but after suffering a cardiac arrest in his home. After a life in the limelight from the age of five to fifty, "Wacko Jacko", truly lived the life of an enigmatic legend often involved in controversies, surrounded by guards and hidden behind masks / umbrellas. He will surely be remembered not only by his musical legacy but also as the singer / man who was born "black" and became "whiter and whiter" due to his many operations.

love their songs and I was pleased to read in conjunction with my group of theater and a choreography of music starting cilp of Mickell Jackson, "Triller".
sorry for his death, but I think we should give the merit and value when people are alive and not dead after. Now it lets you and miss, but also suffered a lot with the criticism and persecution.

Well, Michael Jackson is / was not really one of my favourite singers but, anyway, a great loss for music...

In spite of his own personal vicissitudes, no doubt he created unforgettable songs which still arouse wonderful emotions.
Thank you, Micheal.

Finally, yes, Cidália but better late than never, right???
Yeah, 50 hours aren't enough for those really willing to learn some English. Now it's up to you: either you make an effort to avoid forgetting what you learned (and that's what this blog is all about) or in the twinkling of an eye, you will forget everything!
And, yes, the world (of music) is poorer without Michael Jackson.
Keep in touch. A big hug for you and your kid.

in my opinion michael jackson was really important person in music he creates a difrent style but i also have to say that is not correct the attention that portuguese people give to the fact of his death when we don.t pay any attention to our musicians and artists
