About Me

I am from Coimbra, Portugal, and am currently teaching in a school in Soure, about 30 km away from Coimbra. I have been a teacher of English for over 20 years and have already taught different levels and age groups. After all this time I can say I love working with adult groups because there are no coursebooks and I can create my own resources. I am an avid reader, a blogger and very curious about free tools and their implementation in the classroom.

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Here we go again, ladies, this time to the cinema!
Consumerism / shops / shopping is our new topic so, what are we waiting for? Although you are beginners, I'm sure you will understand most of the film because... there's some work to do on it afterwards (as usual!).
But... don't worry (be happy): entertainment comes first!

Let's start by watching the trailer.

My pleasure, Sofia! It's always great to hear that from you. Although I already knew the plot, I also had a nice time and the presence of the two classes was fantastic. Don't forget to thank teacher Graça Gonçalves as well - she has been my "right-hand woman" ever since I planned to take you all to Lisbon!

Hi Fátima and Paula.
I admit I also love cinema and it was great that we could take advantage of (together!) going to the cinema, having fun with it and learning English.
And Paula...Let's make this course unique - because of you / group and because of these first-time experiences (going to the theatre, cinema...everything in English!). How rewarding for me and you!!!!!!!!

Hello teacher,I adored to go the cinema, therefore of the one great lesson of moral and demonstrates the wild consumerism, what it portraies a little our society.

I haven't seen the film, I just had fun watching the trailer you posted but I can guess that the film was enjoyable and ironical although it deals with a topical phenomen which is not funny at all!
I also imagine that the " follow-up" activities were very interesting and motivating.
