I am from Coimbra, Portugal, and am currently teaching in a school in Soure, about 30 km away from Coimbra. I have been a teacher of English for over 20 years and have already taught different levels and age groups. After all this time I can say I love working with adult groups because there are no coursebooks and I can create my own resources. I am an avid reader, a blogger and very curious about free tools and their implementation in the classroom.

Earth Hour 2009

Dear all,

I'm sure you have often wondered what you could do about global warming.

The environment definitely concerns us all and should be preserved but the truth is that profit has always been the top issue ever since the industrial revolution...

So, why not show your commitment to the environmental cause and join the movement Earth Hour 2009?

Here follows the challenge: wherever you are on SATURDAY 28TH MARCH AT 8.30PM LOCAL TIME, TURN YOUR LIGHTS OFF FOR AN HOUR and take part in this global event, which seeks to ignite a new call for action on climate change around the world.

For further details and registration, visit http://www.earthhour.org/home/

DO SOMETHING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND HELP SAVE PLANET EARTH - DO IT FOR YOURSELF BUT, ABOVE ALL, FOR THE GENERATIONS TO COME!!!!

This kind of simbolic projects are very importants, in order to advise the society, for the problems of our world...

Yeah, I quite agree with you, Odete! They are really meant not only to call our attention, but also to show the world leaders we do care about our planet.

it contributed to my personal training because in this technological age our world is a global village so there is very important that we know, other languages, other cultures above ours.
