About Me

I am from Coimbra, Portugal, and am currently teaching in a school in Soure, about 30 km away from Coimbra. I have been a teacher of English for over 20 years and have already taught different levels and age groups. After all this time I can say I love working with adult groups because there are no coursebooks and I can create my own resources. I am an avid reader, a blogger and very curious about free tools and their implementation in the classroom.

Improve your English

In order to improve your English, I planned different activities for this school year:
- an interactive theatre play ("20,000 Leagues Under the Sea")
- a reading competition ("Reading Mission")
- interactive English sessions in a partnership with IH Coimbra (Dave Tucker)
- a visit to Expolingua
- leaflets on English-Speaking Countries
- mazes / crosswords / wordsearches...

Have you got further suggestions????
Keep in touch and join me at Clube de Inglês:

Have fun while practising your English!

No further suggestions since I believe that if you can bring all these activities to practice you´ll be awarded the title of teacher of the year. Anyway I would dare suggesting a trip to London, a summer course or ...

Great activities, but... do you think this picture is the right choice for such fun activities?

I agree with Luísa, but if you have time, try Pixton and Zimmer Twins. I don't know how old your students are, but my 11 year old son enjoys those tools very much.

To tell you the truth, I have already suggested a trip to London but in Soure, Luísa, it is (almost) impossible. The problem is always the same: money! It's far too expensive. For some, even a theatre ticket of 6 euros is out of reach...

Well, Serpentina, for all those who know me the picture was supposed to make them laugh but, with more time, why not look for another one? Any suggestion?

Thanks for your suggestions, Ditza! I'll surely try with my own son first.
